JET A1 – Storage Tanks

JET A-1 Fuel Storage Tank

As Harsan Tanker, we manufacture JET A-1 Fuel Storage Tanks in compliance with international aviation fuel storage standards. Furthermore, we design every tank to meet the most demanding requirements for safe and long-term storage. Moreover, our horizontal cylindrical structure delivers easy installation and operational advantages in the field.

Body Structure and Material

Sheet Metal and Body Design

We use S235JR steel compliant with EN 10025-2 standard. Furthermore, we design shell thickness in the 6 mm–12 mm range and bombe thickness in the 8 mm–14 mm range according to project requirements. Moreover, we source certified material under EN 10204 at level 2.1 or 3.1. Consequently, we manufacture every body segment in a single piece.

Welding and Workmanship

We manufacture with our EN ISO 3834-2 certified welding management system. Furthermore, we employ EN 9606-1 and ISO 14732 certified welders for shell-to-shell, shell-to-bombe, and nozzle welding. Moreover, we use welding materials conforming to EN ISO 14171 and 14341 standards. Consequently, every welded joint ships with documented quality assurance.

Saddles and Support Structure

We provide welded saddles with compensation plates suitable for supporting a fully loaded tank. Furthermore, we design the tank ground clearance at 100 mm. Moreover, we construct the structure in compliance with international occupational health and safety standards.

Piping and Equipment

Inlet and Outlet Lines

  • Furthermore, we provide a 6″ #150Lb flanged inlet connection with a T-connected distribution pipe extending to approximately half the tank height.
  • Moreover, we integrate a 6″ #150Lb flanged outlet line 250 mm above the tank bottom.
  • In addition, we supply a spare 3″ #150Lb flanged outlet line 450 mm above the tank bottom.
  • Consequently, we provide bottom drain connections with 1 pc 3″ and 1 pc 4″ #150Lb flanged fittings.

Pressure/Vacuum Relief Valves and Manholes

  • Furthermore, we integrate dedicated safety relief valves with a 0.1 Bar pressure setting, specified for JET A-1 fuel storage.
  • Moreover, we integrate bolted manhole covers with hydrocarbon-compatible gaskets and flanged design.
  • In addition, manholes provide the required access for sampling and tank dipping operations.
  • Consequently, we provide easy tank-top access with an access stair, walkway, and handrail.

Level Measurement and Control System

  • Furthermore, we supply a radar level measurement system with 2″ DN50 PN16 flanged connection and 50-metre data cable.
  • Moreover, we provide an external control panel for full operational control in the field.
  • Consequently, we integrate a stainless steel Ø100 mm case mechanical temperature gauge with a range of –10°C to +50°C.

Surface Protection and Paint System

First, we apply SA 2.5 sandblasting to both interior and exterior surfaces. Furthermore, we apply 110–120 micron epoxy primer followed by a 70–80 micron topcoat on the outer surface, delivering a total paint thickness of 180–200 microns. Moreover, we apply a 250–270 micron JET A-1 compatible special interior coating on the inner surface. Consequently, we deliver high-performance protection for both external corrosion resistance and product quality preservation.
