Key Features of Harsan LPG Transport Tanks

TPED & AD2000 Certification

We conduct our production process under independent 3rd party inspection. Consequently, we ensure full compliance with current national and international regulations. Furthermore, our expert teams audit every production stage with confidence.

Next-Generation Design and Maximum Payload

Our next-generation design targets maximum payload capacity. Moreover, we transport products under road conditions in the safest way possible. Consequently, operational efficiency increases significantly on every journey.

High-Strength Special Body Material

We manufacture the tank body and heads from special material designed for Pressure Vessels. In addition, all material fully meets AD2000 standards. Consequently, we guarantee high structural durability throughout the service life.

Heat-Treated Heads

We design internal heads specifically to AD2000 standards. These heads improve vehicle stability on the road. Furthermore, we use one-piece, high-strength carbon steel heads throughout. Moreover, these heads deliver extra resistance against vibrations during heavy-load transport.

Sun Shield Protection

We apply a special sun shield over the tank surface. Consequently, we minimise the ambient temperature effect on the tank. Therefore, internal pressure remains stable throughout transport.

Tank Body and Design Standards

We design every LPG Road Tanker to withstand the most demanding logistics operations. Furthermore, we fully apply the following international standards:

  • Furthermore, we offer an aerodynamic cylindrical design compliant with the EN 12493 design standard.
  • Moreover, we use high-strength, imported, special “P” series pressure vessel material per EN 10028-3.
  • In addition, we position one external head at the front and one at the rear. We mount cross-type (T) bolted Baffles inside the tank in compliance with EN 12493.
  • Additionally, we hold the ISO 3834 Welded Manufacturing Quality Qualification approval.
  • Moreover, we roll plates according to the rolling direction. Afterward, we join them into longitudinal rings using robotic welding technology. We apply a butt-to-butt circumferential welding method, avoiding T-joints.

Tank Technical Specifications

  • Furthermore, Tank Class: Class 2.
  • Moreover, Product Carried: UN 1075 — LPG.
  • Consequently, Operating Temperature: –20°C / +50°C ensures safe operation across the full range.
  • In addition, Design Pressure: 17.5 Bar.
  • Therefore, Test Pressure: 26.5 Bar — we subject every tank to hydrostatic testing.
  • Additionally, Certification: AD Merkblatter TUV “Pressure Vessel Certificate”.

Safety and Tank Body Equipment

Filling and Discharge Line

We carry out controlled filling and discharge using ball valves in the valve cabinet. Furthermore, we use discharge pipes welded to ISO 3834 approved patent elbows. These pipes run completely from the bottom valves to the couplings.

Valves and Fittings

We install 2″ Ball Valves at the end of the gas and liquid lines in the valve cabinet. Moreover, we mount hydraulic bottom valves compliant with EN 12493. In addition, we connect these valves to the body-base nozzles with bolted fittings.

Manhole

We include one 16″ diameter manhole on the rear head. Furthermore, this manhole fully complies with the EN 12493 standard. Consequently, we mount it securely with a flanged bolted connection.

Measurement and Gauges

We use a fixed level indicator suitable for pressure calculations. Furthermore, we add a glycerin pressure gauge and a thermometer. Moreover, we provide a Rotagage rotary level gauge for clear LPG level monitoring.

Safety Valve

We integrate 2 safety valves on the top of the tank to ensure operating pressure safety. Furthermore, we surround these valves with a dedicated protection pool. Consequently, we provide additional protection against potential impact.

Chassis and Running Gear Specifications

Chassis Structure

We manufacture a flexible half-chassis with an “I” cross-section. Furthermore, we reinforce it with intermediate cross-members using robotic welding technology. In addition, we mount body bracket connections to the chassis with bolted fittings. Consequently, the structure resists torsion and bending forces effectively. Moreover, our ISO 3834 certified welders use synergic welding machines throughout.

Chassis Equipment

  • Furthermore, King-Pin: 94/20/EC compliant, 2″ or 3.5″ detachable from the bottom.
  • Moreover, we mount dual-speed mechanical landing gears offering 25 tons dynamic and 50 tons static capacity.
  • In addition, we use a 16×2-ton capacity reverse-spring drum brake axle set.
  • Additionally, we fit 13R x 22.5 tyres as standard.
  • Consequently, we install a 24 V, 7-pin Ex-Proof (explosion-proof) electrical system.

Paint and Optional Accessories

Cabin Paint Application

First, we apply 1 coat of Shop Primer. Next, we follow with a minimum of 2 coats of Epoxy Primer. Finally, we complete the surface with 2 coats of Acrylic Paint. Furthermore, our advanced equipment ensures homogeneous coverage and high surface gloss on every unit.

Optional Accessories

  • Furthermore, we add a magnetic level indicator upon request.
  • Moreover, we offer pneumatically actuated internal valves.
  • In addition, a stainless steel valve cabinet is available as an option.
  • Additionally, we provide hydraulic or electric motor-driven LPG Transfer Pumps.
  • Moreover, we integrate digital, mechanical, or mass-flow LPG Meters.
  • Consequently, electric or pneumatic auto-rewind LPG Hose Reels are also available.

LPG Transport Tanks — Frequently Asked Questions

What international design and safety standards do LPG transport tanks meet?

We manufacture our LPG transport tanks in full compliance with international hazardous goods logistics regulations. Furthermore, we carry out tank body design according to EN 12493 standards. Moreover, independent 3rd party bodies audit our production processes. Consequently, we document every unit with TPED and AD2000 “Pressure Vessel Certificate.” In addition, all welding operations hold ISO 3834 quality qualification approval.

We use high-strength “P” series special steel per EN 10028-3 in the tank body. Furthermore, this steel reduces the tare weight of the vehicle significantly. Consequently, we maximise the volume of UN 1075 (LPG) carried on every journey. Moreover, we mount EN 12493 compliant bolted baffles inside the tank to improve driving stability. In addition, heat-treated one-piece heads deliver extra resistance against heavy-load vibrations.

We manufacture our LPG tankers for Class 2 hazardous goods transport. Furthermore, they deliver full performance and safety between –20°C and +50°C. Moreover, we set the system design pressure at 17.5 Bar. Consequently, we subject every tank to a 26.5 Bar hydrostatic test pressure after production. Therefore, we verify leak-tightness and full safety before dispatch.

LPG is a gas sensitive to both pressure and heat. Furthermore, we apply a special sun shield to the tank surface. Consequently, we break the direct solar radiation effect and minimise ambient temperature impact. Moreover, internal pressure remains stable throughout transport. In addition, we integrate 2 safety valves surrounded by a dedicated protection pool on the tank top. Therefore, we guarantee operating pressure safety under all conditions.

We provide 2″ Ball Valves at the gas and liquid line ends in the valve cabinet as standard. Furthermore, we mount EN 12493 compliant hydraulic bottom valves to the body-base nozzles. Moreover, we use a Rotagage rotary level gauge, glycerin pressure gauge, and thermometer for precise measurement. Consequently, all electrical components carry Ex-Proof (explosion-proof) certification.

We offer a wide range of optional accessories to accelerate field operations. Furthermore, we integrate digital, mechanical, or mass-flow LPG Meters. Moreover, hydraulic or electric motor-driven LPG Transfer Pumps are available. In addition, we fit pneumatically actuated internal valves and electric or pneumatic auto-rewind LPG Hose Reels on request. Consequently, we deliver a fully customised solution for every logistics operation.
