LIN LOX LAR Bobtail Tanks
As Harsan Tanker, we design our LIN LOX LAR Bobtail Tanks for the direct field distribution of liquid oxygen (LOX), liquid nitrogen (LIN), and liquid argon (LAR), delivering high insulation performance, low boil-off rate, and operational efficiency. Furthermore, we manufacture every unit in compliance with the EN 13530 standard. Moreover, we fully customise volume, dimensions, and configuration according to customer requirements and vehicle specifications.
Insulation System and Design
Vacuum + Super Insulation (MLI) Technology
We apply a Vacuum + Super Insulation (MLI equivalent) system on every Bobtail tank. Furthermore, we achieve a vacuum level of ≤ 5 × 10⁻² mbar. Moreover, this superior insulation keeps product loss to a minimum on long-distance transport. Consequently, we deliver both a low boil-off rate and a long service life on every unit.
Design Pressure and Temperature
We apply a design pressure of 6 Bar, MAWP of 5 Bar, and cold test pressure of 8.5 Bar. Furthermore, the design temperature range is –196°C to +50°C. Moreover, our compact structure delivers superior manoeuvrability in urban and industrial distribution operations. Consequently, we guarantee safe and efficient operation under every condition.
Material Specification
Inner Vessel
We manufacture the inner vessel from EN 10028-7 / 1.4301 stainless steel. Furthermore, we design the shell thickness at 4 mm and dished end thickness at 5 mm. Moreover, we manufacture all piping and flanges from the same EN 10028-7 / 1.4301 material. Consequently, we achieve full resistance down to –196°C throughout the vessel.
Outer Jacket
We manufacture the outer jacket from EN 10025-2 S355 J2+N / S235 JR high-strength steel. Furthermore, we apply both shell and dished end thickness at 5 mm. Moreover, following SA 2.5 sandblasting, we apply anti-corrosion shop primer, epoxy primer, and acrylic topcoat. Consequently, we deliver long-lasting surface protection on the outer jacket.
Welding and Manufacturing
We manufacture with EN 9606-1 and ISO 14732 certified welders. Furthermore, we apply TIG (GTAW), SAW, and SMAW welding technologies. Moreover, we carry out longitudinal and circumferential welding with automated systems. In addition, we perform tank cleaning in compliance with EN 12300. Consequently, we deliver consistent and documented quality assurance at every weld point.
Inspection and Quality Control
- Furthermore, we apply 100% RT/UT inspection to all longitudinal and circumferential welds.
- Moreover, we carry out an additional 25% inspection on T-joints.
- In addition, we perform hydrostatic testing on every unit.
- Consequently, we apply full welding quality certification under ISO 3834-2.
Tank Equipment and Instrumentation
Safety and Valve Systems
- Furthermore, we provide HEROSE brand safety relief valves.
- Moreover, we integrate an emergency valve DN25 PN50.
- In addition, we supply top and bottom liquid filling system, DN40 PN50 maintenance valves, and globe valves.
- Consequently, DN40 pneumatic valves, overflow line, and customer line are also included in the standard delivery.
Instrumentation

- Moreover, we integrate a SAMSON 3-way valve, vacuum measurement valve, and PAKKENS manometer.
Pumping System and PBU Evaporator
- Furthermore, we use an EMERSON Panametrics flowmeter for precise measurement.
- Moreover, we integrate a Cryostar GBS 155 (or equivalent) transfer pump.
- Consequently, we supply a PBU evaporator manufactured to AD 2000 / EN 13445 standard from AW 6063 aluminium star profile, with 40 Bar MAWP and 60 Bar test pressure.
